AI Training School – Hands-On Cattle Artificial Insemination Training

We are excited to introduce the Southern Reproductive AI Training School, now based at our new facility in the heart of Tapanui. Our training school is designed to give farmers the skills and confidence to artificially inseminate their own cows, providing greater independence and flexibility during the mating season.
Training is delivered using a state-of-the-art Cow Simulator-a highly realistic, hands-on teaching tool that allows participants to learn correct AI technique safely, accurately, and at their own pace. This simulator replicates the anatomy and feel of live animals, making it ideal for both beginners and those wanting to refine their skill. We also utilise the Alphavision, an insemination device with a camera that allows you to see the cows cervix wirelessly from your phone to ensure placement is accurate.
Our courses will be particularly valuable for farmers who find themselves with just one or two cows coming up for mating each day toward the end of AI season. By learning to perform AI themselves, farmers can save time, reduce scheduling pressure, and ensure timely insemination without waiting for a technician to be available.
Classes will begin soon and will be run in small groups to maximise individual coaching and practical experience.
